Commissioner Michael Taylor announced today plans of expanding the Continental Baseball League to the city of Montreal.
"I wanted the league to be more Continental for season 3. So far, with 5 US teams I thought it was time to expand. It brings fans of a different country, and expands the league north east." Montreal of course lost their team in 2005 to Washington as the Expos skipped town. "The problem there was the lack of a stadium, plans are in place of building a new stadium." Montreal is the second biggest city in Canada, and would be the largest market in the CBL. A new identity package, and plans for roster spreading will be soon announced.
Taylor also announced two teams will be playing in Mexico City to start season 3 off.
